Sea of Souls Series 1 Episodes 1-6 Review

I have seen some of the episodes in HBO, in my country, Brazil, first almost by chance, then I discovered that it was really an amazing series. First, this series is about a Parapsychological Department in a University (in this case, in Scotland) that investigates "paranormal" phenomenon with a scientific approach. The leader of the paranormal investigators is Dr.Douglas Monaghan, played by the actor Bill Paterson, an incredible character. There are two more researchers, one a young skeptic man and a charming Indian woman that is a believer of paranormal issues. The episodes that I have seen portrayed cases of supposed reincarnation, voodoo, psicometry, and other themes very interesting for the paranormal researcher. But the great charm of this serie is the utmost scientific approach and the seriousness of the investigators. It almost seems like a medical/psychological research! They treat themathics as complex and controversial as reincarnation as it were a reality waiting to be thoroughtly investigated and eventually proven, as a scientist that was waiting to prove the existence of a new specimen of life or a new cure for a disease! The objective, no-nonsense approach to subjects that until recently were the exclusive domain of the mystics is for me the most appealing trait of this unusual mini-series. And it was very sucessful, because now it is in the third season (in HBO)!
I recommend this very charming and unusual series. If you believe (or not) in Parapsychology, you will love the unusual approach.

I have seen this movie on vhs and i think its a classic.
Pedro Infante and Jorge Negrete,two mexican super stars,
are at their prime.
Great songs,good acting from everybody and just one very funny movie.
The movie is a comedy with some drama.
Its about two friends in love with two girls but because of
circumtances beyond their control both couples break up.
A year later Jorge visits the town on business and finds out that his best friend Pedro has married jorge's ex girlfriend.
But pedro is still in love with his original girlfriend who happens to be jorge's sister.
Highly recommended for its songs,acting and humor and moral concept.

Are You Afraid of The Dark? - (Box Set) The Complete Third Season (Season 3) Review

Okay, I'd like to clear up a few things about these dvd sets. "Are You Afraid of the Dark" was one of my favorite shows as a kid and I almost didn't buy this dvd set, I'm glad I did. Alot of peolpe are wondering if these are bootlegs. They are not. They are 100% authentic dvds. THe show was a canadian show that Nickelodeon co-produced and released in America. The dvds are from the canadian company. Don't expect a Nickelodeon rlease of the show. They seem quite content screwing over fans of early 90's Nick, by cnacleing the release the final season of Pete and Pete, and not putting any of Salute Your Shorts on dvd either. The biggest issue people were worried about with these dvds was The first seasons packaging. It is a tri fold out cardboard case, like a standard tv show dvd is. The problem is, it doesn't include an outer sleeve to put it into. It's supposed to be that way, so don't worry. Not the best packaging, but it works. The other 2 seasons that were released do include an outer sleeve, which I definitly prefer, but the first season is acceptable. The dvds are of great quality, the picture and sound qaulity is great too. Don't expect remastered in surround sound and high def, but they are better than your average tv broadcast quality. Another question people had was about the changed opening. The first season has a changed opening. They cut the regualr opening short and added a bunch of scenes from the show cut to the credits music. Season 2 and 3 have the original opening you all remember and love. And finally, the question of altered scenes in episodes. In the first season, The Tale of The Hungry Hounds, a scene in the begining is cut where the main characters friend jumps out and scares her in the attic. It cuts akwardly instead to her reacting and doesbn't make any sense in the context. I don't know why thet did it, but the episode is far from ruined with that 5 second scene excised. The only other part thet changed was the song at the end of the Prom Queen episode. They changed it because they lost the rights to the song. Again, not a big deal, but be forewarned. These dvds are definitly worth the price, and they will play in your dvd player. They are Region 1 which is North America and Canada so don't worry. They are not available in American stores as far as I know, so ebay and amazon are your best bet for getting them. Hope this helped to clear up a few things, and let's hope they put out the rest of the incredible show soon!

Very educational, but also entertaining! Bob shows some great videos of spy cats, dolphins, and chickens that he and the Brelands trained. There are also videos of his workshop students training chickens. These are amazing examples of what you can accomplish with the fundamentals of training.

Veggietales 30 Episodes DVD Set Review

Our family loves Veggietales. My son is especially infatuated with them and since I enjoy them too I don't mind watching them over and over again. They are clean, promote family values, the parents are intelligent and give good advice which is not common in most children's programming lately. The only thing I wish I had known before getting this set is that they are not all the full episodes. Seven episodes are missing their beginning "short." The episodes with a missing short are Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Samson's Hairbrush (missing Jr. dealing with bullies), Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler (Archibald in a Man of La Mancha spoof which was really tedious so no great loss), Sweetpea Beauty ("Snoodlerella"), Gideon: Tuba Warrior (story of George Mueller), Sumo of the Opera (a cute 3 stooges spoof), Abe and the Amazing Promise (Blunders in Boo-Boo ville) and Duke and the great Pie War (Babysitter in DeNile, story of Miriam and Moses. Once we discovered this, however, it was still well worth it to keep the set because of how much cheaper it was this way.
