Frankly, Aster Aweke is one of those vocalists that would make the recitation of the phone directory sound appetising. Which is, for all my knowledge of her native tongue,what she may be doing. Though the song's titles have been translated, the lyrics have not. Don't let this deter you.The songs clock in on average at 6 minutes and there are eight in all...a healthy quotient for an artist rarely heard.Having a couple of her easier available recordings already, I didn't hestitate when this became available, and I'd recommend it as a good place to start, given the excellent quality of the production compared to those of 15 or so years back.
